i intend to travel in style...

retro small vintage campervan in teardrop shape
not that i'm particularly traveling anywhere....not yet anyway. but when we booked our aussie holiday (more blog posts coming soon) we intended on trecking up the east coast from sydney to brisbane in a campervan...see the sights, live the bohemian life for a while, and be gloriously unshowered. but....our budget would only stretch to worryingly decrepit vans that risked leaving us stranded far from petrol stations and at the mercy of kangaroos. so we settled for a car and b&b, which was by faaaaaaar the best choice! campervan-ing would be fun for the long haul but for just a three day road trip we decided to go with the comfort factor.

but, in my (extensive!) research i stumbled across these beauties and fell in love a little. they are teeny and tiny but they are also stunningly retro and just damn cool. check out the awesome cath kidston style fabric in one of the teardrop trailers below. who wouldn't want one of these attached to to their vw bug or cream fiat 500 with italian flag stripes down the side (i imagine this quite a lot)?

  1. I love them all, I do. But you would really, really, really want to get along really, really well with your co-caravan person. Call me scarred (and scared). The only time I ever did the caravan thing was with my mother in law.

  2. These are amazing! I can just imagine travelling with my dear Mr Fenwick in any of these crazy campers. ;-) But, a little comfort is also always greatly appreciated on a journey and I think you've made a good choice for your trip. Looking forward to hearing more! xx

  5. When I was a little girl my two sisters and I slept in a tear drop trailer. I can remember my mom reading us bed time stories. I would love to tow a teardrop behind my mustang like the one pictured. Have a good trip!

  7. the little trailers are ADORABLE but I'm boring and would probably opt for a b&b every time...

  10. i kinda like the sleek silver one with the white wheel wells ... but then again, the very top one with the wood grain with the butter yellow curtains is so retro ... and for sure you would have to have a vw bug or bus to pull your caravan ... cuz when they break down you'll always have a spot to nap! (we have a few vdubs in our family ... wink wink!)
thanks claire for the fun today!
